Early blooming, a special Baptisia that is essentially important for emerging queen bumblebees.  Host plant for several butterflies and moths, too.  Lovely and lower growing than other Baptisia species, with a graceful, arching bloom habit.  Wonderful plant for lower-growing prairie restorations or sunny native gardens.  Plant it where it can remain in place, as this plant needs time to get established, and it resents being transplanted, due to its deep taproot.
