Restored Creek Habitat

The Hansen Preserve is a scenic 77- acre property along Sugar Creek in the Town of Lafayette. Follow the main trail for a 1/2 mile hike leading you to the creek and a rare oak opening. The preserve contains a variety of landscapes, including shrub carr, sedge meadow and an oak savanna.

History

The property was purchased by the Geneva Lake Conservancy with funds from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Knowles Nelson Stewardship program, Ducks Unlimited and private donors in 2017.
