John(J.D.) Olson

John (J.D.) Olson has been a devotee of Lake Geneva since 1982. Since 2020, he has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in environmental law at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. This follows a 30-year career as a corporate and environmental attorney in Michigan, Texas, and Saudi Arabia, finishing with posts as General Counsel for Sadara Chemical Company and Hemlock Semiconductor. Olson has lived in Villa Park, Guadalajara, and New York City. From there, he went to Illinois Wesleyan University, where he met his wife, then attended law school at Washington University. He serves on the board of the Environmental Education Foundation and is faculty advisor to the UW-W student chapter of Ducks Unlimited. His teaching and research interests include environmental law, business law and ethics.
