Best in a woodland or partially shaded habitat, this beautiful native flowers in shades of pink or occasionally in white.  Its seeds spread liberally to create breathtaking patches in woodlands.  In more sun, or in extended droughts, the leaves will show signs of stress for that season.  Give this one room to spread by seed, and plant it with other woodland plants that will take over when this one has finished.  Deer and rabbit resistant, and good for pollinators.  Highly recommended for woodland spaces!  This plant should not to be confused with non-native Hardy Geraniums that are sold in many garden centers.
