Oaks are extremely valuable to our local ecosystem, providing important habitat and food to various wildlife. Plant them where they can achieve their mature size. They dislike being transplanted, which makes planting younger trees a great option. They can grow 12” or more per year.
*We recommend cages around new trees and most shrubs for 3-5 years, where deer pressure is high.
