Stevens Family Land Trust Wildlife Preserve
Conservancy Established 2018
In 2018 Geneva Lake Conservancy received a generous donation of a 4.3 acre oak forest on the shoreline of Lake Delavan from the Ken Jacobsen Family Trust known as the "Stevens Family Land Trust." The property has been owned by the Stevens family for more than a century.
Stevens Family Land Trust is a piece of land that connects with a conservation easement next door that GLC holds, creating a Primary Environmental Corridor. An environmental corridor is a landscape that contains high environmental value. In this forest, five different species of woodpeckers home here, including the red-headed woodpecker, which is a species of concern in Wisconsin.
