Maple Hills

Conservancy Established 1999

Maple Hills - This 1/3 Acre property located in Fontana exhibits the importance of having open spaces for native plants and wildlife to thrive in a place where development is rapidly increasing.  This property serves as a Wildlife Sanctuary and is not open to the public.  Restoration work on this property has occurred, removing invasive species like buckthorn, honeysuckle, and other unwanted trees.

In 2025, sisters Laurie and Nicole Betlach donated a 0.14 acre lot adjacent to the Maple Hills property. The parcel has been in their family since the 1920s, when their Swiss immigrant grandparents purchased it within the Maple Hills subdivision. Laurie saw the land donation as an opportunity to honor their late mother.
